LAWN TENNIS
PINE HILL CLUB The annual general meeting of tho above club was held*, in the Pine Hill School, when the .president (Mr A. C. Notman) presided over a good attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, Mr Notman congratulated the club on the success of its first season, and expressed the hope that the coming season would prove as successful, despite the uncertainty that was now clouding sporting activities due to the war. The courts had been lengthened by 10ft to provide a standard run-back, and top-dressing of the area was now in progress. The question of affiliating with the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was discussed, and it was decided to hold this matter over til! next season, when the club’s finances would be in a stronger position. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr D. L. Ritchie; president, Mr A. C. Notman; vice-presidents— Messrs E. A. Calton, A. E. Dawson, E. J. Gray, and J. C. Alitchell; club captain, Air H. H. Gilligan; treasurer. Mr S F. Mueller; auditor. Air E. A. Calton; secretary, Air R. W. Lander; committee—Alosdames E. J. Gray, J. S. Riddick, and A. Scamer. Messrs W. S. Buchanan, G. B. Johnson, and J. 8 Riddick.
