COMMUNITY SING
* BOOMPB-A-DAIBT ’ The new war song, 4 Boomps-a-Daisv,’ will be introduced at the community sing to be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of the Fuller Theatre Corporation Ltd.) at 12.15 tomorrow. This song has been accepted as the British and French Armies’ 1939 marching song—a second 4 Tipperary. 4 Boomps-a-Daisy ’ is a party dance, and has become, more popular than the 4 Lambeth Walk ’ and the 4 Chestnut Tree ’ in England. 4 Bocmips-a-Daisy will be demonstrated by two dancers to-morrow, and it will bo the first time that it has been performed in Dunedin. Messrs W. C. Faulkner and J. _A. M'Caw, jun., will be heard in clarinet duets. Mr IT. P. Desmoulins will be tin) leader, with Mr A. Pettitt at the •piano. Flowers and goods will be accepted at the stall. The proceeds will be given to the mayor’s relief of distress fund.
