NORTH-EAST VALLEY CLUB ■ The annual meeting of the Northeast Valley Club was held last evening, the president (Mr G. Nevvey) occupying the chair. Moving the adoption of the annual report, the Chairman congratulated the club on the excellent position it bad achieved in the competitions. The intermediate team had had a particularly successful season, and the club’s second team had also won a good deal of credit. He traversed the subjects dealt with in the annual report , and urged all members to put forth their best efforts to bring the club through the difficult period which was being experienced. He referred to the possibility of a new home for the club at Chingford Park, a proposal which, ho said, would consolidate the club as a district organisation. The motion was seconded by Mr 11. Bunn and carried. The election of officers resulted; — Patron, Mr A. E. Ansell; president, Mr G. Newey; club captain, Mr R. Peart; secretary, Mr G. Anderson; treasurer, Mr R. Oxley; assistant secretary, Mr J. Anderson; practice captains, Messrs R. Jones and A. Maekle; delegate to Otago Cricket Association. Mr T. Hughes; auditors, Messrs H. Cullen and A. Riach; selectors, Messrs IV. Hughes and W. Faithful; committee—■ Messrs W. Wallace, R. Miller, W. Faithful, T. Hughes, C. Cadman. Trophies won during the year were presented by the president to F. Hughes, R. Sinclair, F. King, T. Hughes, A. Perkins, and E. Duffy. The opening date was fixed for .October 7.
