CENTENNIAL FIXTURES ABANDONED OPEN AND AMATEUR AS USUAL Though it, has cancelled the special Centennial tournamets in October and November at Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington, the New Zealad Golf Council has decided that the ordinary annual New Zealand open and amateur championship events will taka place. This is in accordance with the Government’s expressed wish in regard to the continuance of normal games and sports events. The venue is Miramar (Wellington), and the dates November 9 to 17. The programme already issued applies, except as to prize money, the total amount of which is to bo £4OO, which is more than was provided previouslv, but the amount has' been increased owing to the expected abandonment of the professionals’ tournament usually held in February,
