OTAGO CENTRAL-LAKE WAKATIPU AMALGAMATION [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, September 20. The amalgamation of the Central Otago and *Lake Wakatipu. electric power districts as one electric power district is authorised in the Local Legislation Bill Legislation is necessary. s the Lake Wakatipu Electric Power Board is unable to obtain supp ies ot electricitv for reticulating its district, and the "Central Otago Electric Power Board will supply the area under the ™Tt ga X‘ir.fSr'r.or gf niB.«o„ of the district will be to deprive the Queenstown Borough of a constituent district of the Lake aka tinu electric power district until such t me as the reticulation of that area is undertaken by the Electric Power Board At present the borough cound° operates its own generating plant and does not take power from outside sources. In the meantime it will not be represented on the new board and will not be liable for rates.
