TURF IN AUSTRALIA lEAU VITE'S FAST TIME SYDNEY, September 19. The Derby candidate Beau Vite distinguished himself on the Randwick track to-day, registering the fastest time for a mile and 100yds, Imin 43sec. He badly beat Paddy the Rip and shook off Pearl of Asia. The Epsom candidate Mieawber did a creditable six furlongs at Victoria Park in Imin 19-isec. ; Olympus is training on well, and did abound five furlongs in Imin 4Jsee. Defaulter trotted and cantered round the centre of the Randwick track today. A decision in regard to his future will be given in a day or two. Royal Chief worked quietly on the tan track. He appears to be suffering no leg inconvenience. The Newcastle meeting was opened to-day, and the chief event, the Cameron Handicap, seven furlongs, was won by the Epsom candidate, Red Thespian, from Bradford and Huntsman. Bradford’s display was disappointing to his Epsom admirers.
