SUNDAY SCHOOLS

DIOCESAN TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the Diocesan Sunday School Teachers’ Association was held last evening in the Cathedral Crypt. A motion expressing sympathy with ithe secretary (Miss E. M. Blyth) in the recent loss of her mother was passed. . The chairman (Bishop Fitchett), in moving the adoption o rthe report anti balance sheet, said that Sunday school teachers had an arduous and self-sacri-ficing work which he thought was not always appreciated by church officers, but he was sure it was appreciated by the clergy. He himself had a great admiration for Sunday school teachers, and thought that no one made greater sacrifices than they, but he was sure they were all the happier for that and he could assure them of the thanks of the whole diocese. ’ In seconding the adoption of the report, the Rev, W. A. HambK'tt said the association was to be congratulated in having such an able secretary and treasurer. The funds were in good order, the balance in hand being larger than at the beginning of the year. The mail bag system envolved a great deal more work for the secretary. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Rev. W. A. Hamblett; vice-presidents. Dean Cruickshank and the Rev. A. B. Pywell; secretary and treasurer, Miss E. M. Blyth; auditor, Mr E. Bond. It was decided to hold the next conference on a Saturday afternoon as soon as possible after Easter next year. It was left to the executive to make arrangements for the annual teachers festival In regard to mail bag lessons it was decided to have no lesson tor the two Sundays in December, which could be used for revision.
