Form 17a. obtainable at principal Post Offices) will be received up till noon on 22nd SEPTEMBER, 1939. for the Positions of ELECTRICIAN at the E.N.Z.A.F. Stations at Woodbourne (Blenheim) and Ohakea (Palmerston North). The appointments will be to the Temporary Stiff of the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, at a salary of £270 p.a., with maximum £3OO p.a. A stand-by allowance of £lO p.a. will also be paid. It is desired that Applicants should be Registered Wiremen and preferably have had some experience as faultsmen, linesmen, or sub-station operators. An elementary knowledge of Diesel Engine Running would bo an advantage. The general duties will comprise operating and maintaining the switchgear and apparatus in the sub-station, maintenance of the distribution system, and of the installations in the various buildings. The appointees will be required to assist in theerection of sub-station equipment and reticulation scheme. A modem five-roomed all-electric rest' deuce will be provided as soon as possible at a rental to be determined later. Meantime, rent will be charged at the rate of not more than £1 per week.
