ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

CAR SMASH-TWO PERSONS INJURED. A lucky escape from more serious injury was experienced by the two occupants of a motor car that yesterday afternoon crashed into a telegraph pole at the corner of Mechanic street and the Main North road. The force of the impact snapped the heavy pole in two. The driver was Charles Evans, a young man residing at _ 534 King street. He suffered head injuries. The passenger in the car, which was substantially damaged, was Anne Munro, who resides at Ashburn Hall. She suffered injuries to her right leg, and was admitted to the Hospital during the evening. There was no improvement in the condition of either patient early this afternoon.
