SUSPECT ARRESTED AND CHARGED TWO OTHERS APPEAR ON “ RECEIVING " COUNTS [Pei: United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., September 18. Arrested here last night, Kenneth Hugh Bennetts, a salesman (20), of Wanganui, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court charged with breaking and entering by night a shop owned by Gordon Stuart Hutchinson, at Auckland, and stealing jewellery valued at £B6; also with breaking and entering the promises owned by Ernest M‘Feat, at Auckland, and stealing jewellery valued at £672; also with being found without lawful excuse on premises in Chayter street, Palmerston North, last night. Detective-sergeant Meiklejohn stated that a large quantity of jewellery had been found in the possession of accused, who was remanded! till Wednesday. Allan Farquhar Young (19), a baker, of Wellington, on a charge of receiving from Bennetts a wristlet watch, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained, also with being found without lawful excuse on Stubb’s premises, was remanded; and George Henry Doyle (21), of Auckland, charged with receiving from Bennetts two wristlet watches, was also remanded.
