COASTAL MOVEMENTS. Storm sailed on Saturday evening for Wanganui via ports. Holmlea arrived this morning from Wellington to load and sail to-night for Wellington and New Plymouth via ports. Port .Waikato is due on Wednesday from Wellington to load and sail the same day for Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei via Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. Breeze is due on Wednesdy from Wellington to load and sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Port Whangarei is due from Wellington on Wednesday to load and sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, "New Plymouth, and Wanganui.
AVaiana left Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, and is due here on Thursday. She will sail the same day for Bluff, and will return on Saturday to load for Auckland via ports. i Karu is due from AVellington on Thursday to load and sail the same day for Oamaru, Timaru, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. Poolta was to load at AVestport today for Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff, and is due here about Sunday. Wainni is due from Bluff on September- 26 to load and sail the same day for Oamaru. Timaru. Lyttelton, AA rellington, Napier, and Gisborne. Waipiata is to leave Auckland on Saturday for Lyttelton and Dunedin, and is due here on September 29. She will sail the same day for Auckland via Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, and AA’ellington. INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The interisland express steamer AA r ahine arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.50 yesterday morning. TANKER NEW ZEALAND. * The Norwegian tanker New Zealand broke down on her last voyage from Dunedin to Los Angeles, according to advice received from Sydney, and drifted for three days off the Californian coast. A tug was. despatched to lier assistance and towed her into Los Angeles, where, she was placed in dock. A faulty valve caused the vessel to lose her fuel supply. NEW JAPANESE SHIPS. Advice lias been received from Japan that the keel of one of the_ projected 27,000-ton Nippon Yusen Kaisha liners has been laid at the Nagasaki yard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. The other is scheduled for construction at the Kawasaki yard at Kobe, but the keel will not be laid before next month. Both vessels arc scheduled to he in commission eai’ly in 1942. AT OTHER PORTS. AUCKLAND, September 16.—Sailed: Tasman (5.30 p.m.), for AVellington. WELLINGTON, September 16.—Arrived: Gale (2.5 p.m.), from Lyttelton; Gabriella (9.25 p.m.), from Greymouth; Breeze (11.15 p.m.), from Wanganui. Sailed;' Holmlea (2.15 p.m.), for Dunedin. September 17.—Arrived : Waipiata (4.15 a.m.), from Lyttelton; Holmglen (8 a.m.), from LyUelton; Holmclale (9.30 a.m.), from Lyttelton; Port AA-hangarei (9.15 a.m.), from New Plymouth. LYTTELTON, September 16. Sailed: Holmglen (11.55 a.ni.), for Wellington; AVaipiata (1.10 p.m.), for AVellington; Holmdale (4.20 pm.), lor Welington.
