LEITH CLUB. Under perfect weather conditions, the Leith pack ran from the St. Kilda Bathing Pavilion. The pack, under Captain Pridham, proceeded along the beach to Lawyers Head, then over the hill and down to Tomahawk Beach, running cross-country to Smaill’s beach. The same country was traversed as far as Tomahawk, then the pack took to the road and proceeded some distance until “ Lovers’ Lane.” A good straight run home brought the run to a finish, some of the senior runners showing good form. MORNINGTON CLUB. Mornington held its second and final sports meeting under ideal conditions. To the winner of the most points for handicap placings in these two meetings goes the M‘Lean Challenge Cup. The events decided were the shot putt, 220 and 440 yards races, and the bop, step, and jump. The 220 Yards was run in two beats, the first resulting as follows : —F. Tombs 1, I. Templeton 2, A. de Couroy 3. Time. 25sec. Second heat: T. Kennedy 1, W. Burrows 2, W. Taylor 3. Time, 25sec. Final; T. Kennedy 1. A. de Courcy 2, W. Burrows and F. Tombs 3. Time, 24 l-ssec. The Hop, Step, and Jump was another well-contested event, resulting as follows; —A. de Courcy 1, L. Bachop 2, A. Holmes 3. The best jump was made, by T. Wallace. The 440 Yards saw the scratch men, T. 0. Kennedy, coming through to finish first, with W. Burrows second, and F. Graveson and A. Holmes third and fourth respectively. T. (>. Kennedy secured the M'Lean Cup after being runner-up once or twice previously. The Shot Putt resultedT. Kennedy and L. Bachop tequal) 1, A. Holmes 3. Best putt, T. Wallace, 28ft Gin. DUNEDIN CLUB. The chib’s second sports meeting was held under ideal conditions at St. Kilda Results — High jump; E. Williams, 4ft Biin, 1; .1. M'Gregor, 4ft 7£in, 2; W. N. Connell, 4ft 4in, 3. 220 yards; W. N. Connell 1, K. Williams 2, .1. M'Gregor 3. Hop, step, and jump: W. Bloecham, 33ft OJin, 1; ■). M'Gregor, 35ft 9in. 2; J. Smith, 35ft 3. 440 yards; W. Bloxham 1, W. N. Connell 2, E. Williams 3. E, Williams retains the Barling Challenge Cup, winning by half a point from J. M'Gregor. CELTIC UNITED. The chib held its second and final sports meeting for the Bine Star Taxis Cup at Eorhury Park. Results:—M, Pettit 1, T. Paterson 2, H. Coombs 3. A. E. Dyson 4. The consolation mile was won by J). (Ryan, with I’. Paterson. off scratch, second, and E. Pettit third.
