GREEN ISLAND CRICKET CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the above club was held in St, Mark s Hall on Thursday. There was a large attendance of members, .presided over by Mi E. Freeman. The annual report and balance sheet showed that the club had had the most successful season since its establishment Two grade championships had been ’won, ahd the financial position was very satisfactory. Reference was made to the fine performance of I'. Barnes, who had taken 100 wickets during the season, and of B. Barnes, who had scored a century for the Otago office-bearers resulted: Patron Mr J. Tile Chairman made feeling reference to the death of the club’s patroh, Mr W. T. Smellie, and members stood in silence as a mark of respect. Opening day was fixed for October 7.
