BUYERS STILL CHARY OF METALS BANK OF NEW ZEALANDS AVAILABLE AT £l/18/3 Although Imyiiig support was again noticeably absent in the Australian metals section, the market generally retained strength on its resumption this morning. Commonwealth industrials were inactive, but revived interest was barely visible in some other sections. Commonwealth metals showed little change on last week’s closing rates. Lyells were available at £1 12s 6cl. while Zincs and other Barriers closed linn. Morgans were easy at sellers 10s 9d. Broken Hill Proprietaries, which had reported business at £3 12s 3d, closed between £3 lls-£3 12s 9d, the wide margin reflecting buyers’ caution. Coles, which sold at £3 10s, were on offer at 4s above that valuation, but purchasers were not attracted. Sydney Wool worths were passed, while'Woolworths Properties finished at £1 3s-£l 4s 9d. A.C.l.s and British Tobaccos were available at late rates. •Banks showed practically no interest, the only noteworthy movement being provided by* New Zealands, which eased to vendors £1 18s 3d. Insurances were stable, while meats and woollens were inactive. Huddart, Parker ords. brightened on an inquiry at £2 18s. Dominion industrials showed no change, a firm demand again coming forward for Dominion Fertilisers. Drugs, and Wilsons Cement.
