[From Odb Oamard Correspondent.] RED CROSS SOCIETY. The Oamaru branch of the Reel Cross Society has increased in membership every week lately, and the weekly class at the Oamaru Hospital now comprises over 60 members. At this week’s class Dr R. Bevan-Brown gave a talk on medical ethics and on ward work. BOATING CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Oamaru Boating Club the following officers were ‘elected:—Patron, Mr R. K- Ireland; president, Mr 1). Martyn; vice-presi-dents—Messrs K., Familton, R. J. Hinkley, E. G. Lane, G. T. Gillies, E. W. M’Kelvey, W. H. Wylie, and J. Mackie; club captain, Mr D. Miller; secretary, Mr D. Marshall; treasurer, Mr B. W. Patterson; auditor, Mr D. Martyn; committee Messrs D. Stronach, D. Sparks, A. Robertson, R. M'Lean, W. Denholm, C. M'Kenzm, A. Stichman, and F. Nightingale; delegates to Otago Rowing Association Messrs A. S. Frame, E. V. Fairbairn, and ,1. Turnbull; trustees—Messrs G. Grenfell. J. Grant, and J. M. Forrester. HOCKEY. Owin<* to transport difficulties the North Otago Men’s Hockey Association has decided' to play no more representative matches this season. PERSONAL. Mr K Bryan, the well-known tennis plaver, has arrived in Oamaru on transfer to the Chief Post Office from Dunan end-of-season picturei party and social evening the Kurow Basketball Club honoured its .captain. Miss Hilary Sumpter, who is shortly to be married. On behalf of the club Miss Austin expressed thanks for what Miss Sumpter had <}one f°r basketball m Kurow, and Mrs A. C. J.
