OLD STONE SCHOOL
EX-PUPILS' ASSOCIATIOH At the annual meeting of the Old Stone-Union Street-Normal School Expupils’ Association Mr W, Rutherford Dresided. H Reference was made to the deaths of Mr A M‘Queen and Mrs Judge and Mrs Simpson all former pupils of the school and motions of sympathy with the relatives were carried in the usual m Mr 6 Rutherford referred to the fact that next year the school would celebrate its eightieth anniversary, and he appealed to members to make the occasion a memorable one by supporting the efforts of the executive. Mr Rutherford also commented on the satisfactory state of the association’s finances, and made special reference to the efforts of the present brad master, Mr Miller, in furthering the work of the association. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr W. Rutherford; vicepresidents—Messrs W. J. Strong, H. C. Jones, J. R- .Rivers, Miss M, Allan i secretary, Mr Jk Hayj treasurer, Mr
J. H. Oliver; auditor, Mr J. Iflenw ing; committee—Messrs J. M‘Pherson* J. M‘K. Miller, R. Lamb, J. Hope, P< Ireland, Mesdames Lawson, MTherson* Squire, Misses Wright and Cable, A social hour followed. Items wer* rendered by Mrs Leech, pianoforte solo; Miss Billy Loan, recitations; Miss Eileen Gillies, Miss D. Adcock, Mr IR-' Gordon, songs. Mr Jock (Robertson, gave a talk on his home town in Scotland, and also contributed several Scottish songs.
