ILATTA LION NOTICES. The football competition will be held at tho Oval No. 3 to-morrow at 1.15. The Old Boys’ Band, which meets weekly at the bandroom, 17 Baker street, Cnversham, is open to all ex-8.8. boys. Here is a chance to learn an instrument under Mr Jas. Dixon. Como along on Saturday night at 6 o’clock. Tho annual mooting of tho Otago Battalion Council will he held iu the Central Mission parlour on Saturday, September 23, afc 7.45. As many important decisions will be made at this meeting it is desired by the executive that all officers should be present. An opportunity will be taken of saying farewell to Mr A. Sneddon. Ist DUNEDIN. Parades are going ahead, but several boys have, not been as regular as could be desired. The seniors are practising Morse and the juniors at semaphore. The squad competition is very keen, and the squads aro running close. A concert will he held to raise funds for the camp. A seven-a-sido practice was held last Saturday, 12th DUNEDIN (Maori Hill Presbyterian). With Staff-sergeant Maydon as orderly officer, last Friday night a parade of 30 boys was held, thanks to the untiring efforts of Mr Jones. Incorporated with various other items such as ambulance, bugling, and singing classes was the monthly intersquad challenge medal competition—a test in three sections, handbook, inspection, and a demonstration in drill. The newly-formed No. 4 squad, under Acting L.C. Simpson, performed creditably. Recently a number of boys sat their signalling examination, all passing. The result was a credit to the company and to their instructors, Mr Donaldson and Mr Laing. All are looking forward to the visit of 7th Dunedin to-night. 3rd DUNEDIN (Roslyn Baptist). The company has been reorganised under the captaincy of Mr H. Chisholm, and keenness is being shown by officers and boys alike. Four officers have passed through tho ranks of the Lifeboys and the Boys’ Brigade Company. Tho weekly programmes consist of ambulance, Morse, semaphore instruction, and drill. The junior team will take part in the battalion competitions tomorrow. THE LTFEBOYS, The Lifoboys football tournament will be held at the Oval on September 23. Entries will bo received on the ground, and there is no limit to the number of entries from each team.
