EXTRADITION ORDER
FALSE PRETENCE CHARGE A DEAL IN PROPERTY [Pen United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 13. An application for an extradition order was made in the Police Court to-day against Gregory Psaltis, a Greek fruiterer, aged 29, who appeared before Mr F. H. Levien, S.M. The accused was charged that at Sydney on July 5 he did falsely pretend to Jabez Lyons- that the property enumerated in the schedules of a contract for the sale of a business in Darlinghurst road was the sole and bona fide property of Gregory Psaltis, and by means of the said false pretence he obtained about £2,136.
Detective-constable H. AA r . Miller, attached to the Criminal Investigation branch of the New South AVales Police Department, produced a warrant and asked for an order for the accused to be returned to Sydney. Mr Sanderson, who appeared for the accused, asked that the order bo not made until the ship left for Sydney, otherwise the accused might have'to be held in custody, in the meantime. After taking time to consider the matter the magistrate decided to make an order.
