DUNEDIN HIGHLAND RIFLES
ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING
At the annual meeting of the Dunedin Highland Rifles’ Association Mr Duncan Fraser presided. Before moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet the president referred to the deaths of four members during the past year—Messrs D. Henderson, W. Webster, F. Johns, and W. Broadfoot—and those present stood in silence for a few moments as a mark of respect. Mr J. D. Cameron referred to the illness of the patron, Colonel A. Stoneham, and wishes were expressed for his speedy recovery. The following officers were elected;Patron. Colonel A. Stoneham; president, Mr G. Wnldio; vice-presidents— Messrs Fraser, J. K. Macfie, J. D. Cameron, A. Dempster, K. Melville, J. C. Rigby, J. T. Gillan, and J. Macpherson; joint secretaries, Messrs J. A. Arm it and F. W. A. Clayton; auditor, Mr J. K. Macfie; Musical Committee, Messrs G. Waldie and F. W. A. Clayton: Refreshment Committee, Messrs J. C. Rigby and .1. T. N. Grant; chief steward, Mr .1. N. O. M'Donald; official piper, Mr J. T. N. Grant; committee Messrs W. M'Kinlay, W. M'Keitch, J. Frew, J. Sim, J. Macpherson, D. Ferguson, S. Garbutt, J. N. 0. M'Donald, W. M'Kay, and B. Newman. It was decided to hold the annual reunion on September 23.
