ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
HAND CAUGHT IN MACHINERY. A crushed hand, the result of being caught in machinery at the Mackintosh Caley Phoenix factory, was suffered yesterday afternoon by an employee, James Rowe, aged 14. The injured youth, wh» lives in Dryden street, Mosgiel, wa» admitted to the Hospital. A LACERATED ANKLE, As a result of slipping on some scrap metal when leaving his work at Mosgiel last evening, Charles Morns, aged 29 years, of Mosgiel, suffered a lacerated ankle! necessitating his admission to th* Hospital. INQUEST ADJOURNED. The inquest was opened this morning on Miss Mary Todd (53). who was found dead in a carriage when a train from Ravensbourne arrived yesterday afternoon. Evidence of identification was given by a brother of the deceased, Francis Todd. The coroner (Mr .1. R. Bartholomew. S.M.I adjourned the inquest sine die to enable a post mortem examination to be carried out.
