A PILE OF WEALTH.—Portion of the offering of 24,500 opossum skins on display at a Dunedin store prior to last Friday’s sale. This display represents 80 per cent, of the total New Zealand skins, numbering approximately 35,000. Best prices obtained were 13s 7d for blue and 7s for black. Adverse conditions caused a considerable decline this season, there being some 110,000 skins sold in 1937, the last open season, while it is anticipated that this season will bring forward about 60,000.
