TIN PRODUCTION SUBSTANTIAL FALL SHOWN FIGURES FOR FIRST HALF OF YEAR Apparent world tin consumption in the first half of 1939 was 74,900 tons, or 6,000 tons below consumption in the corresponding period of 1938, but 4,000 tons above that in the second half of that year. World production in the first six months .of 1939 amounted to 62,800 tons, as against 82,500 tons in the first half of the previous year. Of this amounf 43,382 tons were accounted for by the signatory countries (states the International Tin Research and Development Council).
