By Proclamation His Excellency the Governor-General has called for Volunteers for Overseas Service. 2. HOW TO ENLIST: All men wishing to enlist should apply to the nearest Army Office to register their names for service. The following are the Army Offices in this area:— Kensington Drill Hall, Dunedin. Drill Hall, Oamaru. 3. To enable men in outlying districts to register without the necessity of travelling some distance, arrangements have been made for registration forms to be available at the following Post Offices: — Alexandra Beaumont Brighton Clyde Cromwell Dunbaclc Duntroon Green Island Hawea Flat Hampden Herbert Hyde Kurow Lawrence Maheno Middiemarch Mosgiel Naseby Ngapara Omakau Owaka Palmerston Patearoa Pembroke Port Chalmers Pukeuri Junction Ranfurly St. Bathans Seacliff Tarras Tokarahi Waiareka Junction Waikouaiti Waipiata Waiiati 4. No man should leave the Army Office where he registers until he has received a Registration Certificate. This Registration Certificate will be forwadred as soon as possible through the post to those who register at Post Offices. 5. CHANGE OF ADDRESS. Any changes of address must be notified as under:— (a) If the change is from one house to another in the same locality—by reporting personally to the Army Office or Post Office where the registration took place, and handing in the new address. (b) If the change is to another locality, by reporting personally to the nearest Army Office in the locality within seven days of arrival there. 6. Personnel will be recruited from volunteers from 21 to 35 years of age. Unmarried men will be accepted before married 7. TERMS OP ENLISTMENT; Enlistment is for the period of the War and until such time thereafter‘as may be necessary. Men may be posted to any arm of the service. 8. OATH OF ALLEGIANCE: Every soldier is required to take the oath of allegiance to His Majesty the King in the prescribed form. 9. MEDICAL EXAMINATION; Instructions for Medical Examination will be issued personally to those selected for service. 10. VACCINATION AND INOCULATION. In the interests of himself and his comrades, every soldier is required to be vaccinated and inoculated against enteric, etc., as may be deemed necessary by the Director of Medical Services. 11. All Territorials selected for service must return their arms and equipment to their unit before proceeding to camp. They will take their uniform to camp with them. 12. EQUIPMENT. Clothing, etc., will be provided free. . 13. Before proceeding on active service all ranks will undergo a course of training in mobilisation camp. .4. Rates of pay will be as published m 3 Press. A. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that under Regulation 3 of the Alien Control Emergency Regulations made on 4th September, 1939, every alien in New Zealand on that date is required to make application for registration under the regulations not later than 14 days from the date of the regulations. ALIEN means a person of the ago of 16 years or over, who is not a British subject, or who, notwithstanding that he may also be a British subject by birth or naturalisation or otherwise, is or at any time has been according to the laws of any State with which His Majesty is at war a national of that Stale. Every person who after the date of these regulations becomes an alien, whether by attaining the age of sixteen years, or, in the case of a woman, by marriage to an alien, or otherwise howsoever, shall within fourteen days make application for registration. Every application for registration under these regulations shall be made personally at the Police Station nearest to which the applicant resides. After the expiration of fourteen days from the date of these Regulations every alien registered under the Regulations shall produce a Certificate of Registration when required to do so by any Police Officer. The penalty for failing to register or for any other offence against the Regulations is a fine of £IOO, or three months’ imprisonment. or both fine and imprisonment. NOTE.—It is of the utmost importance in their own interests that all aliens register under these Regulations. All persons who are in anv way doubtful as to their nationality, dr whether they are subject to the Regulations, are urged to call at the nearest Police Station, when steps will be taken to determine their nationality. | D.
