EDUCATION IN OTAGO

BOARD'S MONTHLY' MEETING The Otago Education Board held its monthly meeting to-day. Present ■were Messrs James Wallace (chairman), D. C. Cameron. N. H. Colquhoun, E. Morgan, -W. D. Sutherland, W. R. Brugh, D. Marshall, J. I. G. Somerville, W, D. Richards, and W. M. Cooper. NEW TRAINING COLLEGE. Warm appreciation of the consideration shown by the Government and the Minister of Education (Mr Fraser) over the reopening of the Training College and the provision for a new building was expressed by the board, which adopted a resolution of thanks. “ Both the Government and the Minister have been most generous in their actions, and as far as Mr Fraser is concerned ho has been the most approachable and generous Minister of Education in my 21 years’ experience ns chairman of this board,” said Mr Wallace. “ The Government has given us a splendid building, just what the board asked for. There was never at any time a suggestion to cut down expenses or to alter the plans of the new college.” The Chairman then moved a resolution of thanks to the Government for its treatment of the board. Mr Colquhoun, who seconded the motion, commented that Mr Fraser was recognised throughout the Dominion as the best Minister of Educa-
