WORLD'S RECORD FOURSOME [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. September 9. In what is regarded as a world’s record in a foursome match, a decision has at last been reached in the semifinal of the Foursomes Challenge Cup competition at the Waitikiri course, in which C. De.vell and J. W. Jackson and M. R. Blanc and C. Cliff have tied on five previous occasions. In ideal conditions to-day, Deyell and Jackson succeeded in securing a 2 up and 1 victory. These pairs have been playing at intervals for eight or nine weeks, and the other semi-final was decided five weeks ago. ST. GLAIR CLUB The four-hall Stableford bogey competition. which was played on Saturday afternoon, resulted in a decisive will for A. G. Bayiiss and W. F. Sligo, with a card of 49 plus 21—70, C. B. CLAIR The match which was played on the St. Clair links between the Otago University and St. Clair Clubs resulted in a decisive win for the University team by 8] games to 3]. University established a lead of one game in the foursomes, which was increased in the singles by winning six of the eight games. The results were as follows: Foursomes: Gibbs and Davies lost to Bennie and Wight 2 and 1, Lemon and Falvey defeated Clayton and Lawrence 1 up, Sams and O’Callagban defeated Ross and Elder 2 up,. Weston and Al'Kenzie and St. George and Clark all square. Singles; A. Gibbs defeated D. C. Bennie 3 and 2, J. Davies lost to C. B. Wight 6 and 5, J. Lemon defeated W. Clayton 4 and 3, J. Falvey defeated A. Lawrence 3 and 2, ,G. O’Callaghan lost to H. S. Ross 3 and 2, J. Sams defeated IC. N. Elder 3 and 2, C. Weston defeated J. C. St. George 4 and 3, P. S. Al'Kenzie defeated K.
