LATE SPORTING
BEAU VUE, A GREAT COLT DEFAULTER NOT STARTING AT ROSEHILL SYDNEY, September 11. (Received September 11, at 11 a.m.) As a result of bis great effort in the Chelmsford Stakes Beau Vite has ousted High Caste from the Derby favouritism, and has been made joint favourite with Defaulter for the Melbourne Cup. Royal Chief now shares the Metropolitan favouritism with Cooranga.
The - ‘Herald’ says: "Beau Vite proved himself a great colt, possessing stamina and great determination, two necessary attributes for a Derby candidate.”
Commenting on Royal Chief’s display in the Chelmsford Stakes, the ‘ Herald ’ says: “ Royal Chief won the Metropolitan last year, and seems to have every chance of repeating the performance.”
Defaulter has been physicked, and will not run in the Hill Stakes at Rosehill next Saturday.
