EARLY APPLICATIONS ASKED STAFF OVERWORKED [Per United' Press Association.]' WELLINGTON, September 9. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Parry) announces (hat there has been an abnormally heavy pressure of work on officers handling leave permit applications. and he impresses on person* whose business or private affairs make it necessary for them to leave" Nety( Zealand to "make applications for permit* as early ahead of the date of their intended" departure as possible. Arrangements have been made for the lodging of applications with tha tourist bureau in Auckland. the registrars of births, deaths, and marriages in Christchurch and Dunedin, and with the collectors of Customs in other ports. Considerable assistance should result if applications are lodged at the nearest offices.
