LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE BUSY SOME SPECTACULAR ADVANCES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrighl LONDON, October 8. (Received October 9, at 1.30 a.m.) The ‘ Daily Herald’s ’ City editor says conditions on the Stock Exchange yesterday were unequalled since the palmy days of 1929. Speculators and investors rushed to buv anything likely to rise. Some of the spectacular advances were Imperial Tobaccos, which in three days appreciated by £l4 000,000, Courtaulds £5,000,000, and’ Imperial Chemicals £5,250,000.
