COURT EXCELSIOR, A.O.F.

The fortnightly meeting of the above court was held in the court room, St. Mary’s Hall, Mornington, on Tuesday evening, when P.C.11. Bro. G. D. Hay presided over a good attendance of officers and members. The woodwards reported on the sick brethren visited during the fortnight, and sick pay was passed for payment. Greetings were conveyed from Bros. W. Q. Kewish (Auckland), W. Smith (Wellington), . Galloway (Christchurch), and C.R. Bro. 11. S. Bremner (Sydney). Owing to his transfer to Australia, Bro. Bremner resigned his position as chief ranger, and P.C.11. Bro. Hay was elected to fill the vacancy. Invitations were received from Courts Little John, Robin Hood, and King Edward’s Pride for entries for their cribbage and euchre shield tournaments. It was resolved to enter teams. P.C.11.s Bros. E. J. Patton and E. Simmons were selected to attend the special district meeting for the purpose of electing a district

trustee in place of the late P.C.R. Bro. John Abbott. The proposition of two candidates were received. P.C.11. Bro. Alex. Watson (Court Pride of Dunedin) was officially welcomed and toasted, and returned thanks for the welcome extended. A successful meeting terminated with progressive euchre, the prize-winners being P.C.11.s Bros. A. M‘D. Roberts, J. T. Wilson, and H. M. Roberts (booby).
