(a) Varies from previous game. 11-16 is more popular. (b) Probably the loser. 17-14 gives White a much stronger game. GAME 501. “ Slip Cross.”—
(a) The “ Slip Cross,” an opening weak for White and seldom played. (b) As this move has not received much attention, I have got together some variations from all sources. (c) 7-11, 22-18, 1-5, 18-9, 5-14, 26-22, 11-15, 32-28, 15-24, 28-19, 2-7, 22-18, 14-17, 21-14, 10-17, 18-15, 7-10, 15-11, 10-14, 11-7, 6-10, 7-2. White wins.—J. H. Scott. (d) The trunk play is by P.
