HERR GREISER’S PROTEST MOTE TO GENEVA Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright DANZIG, October 7. Herr Greiser, President of the Danzig Somite, sent a Note to Geneva protesting against the Council’s decision,

which he complains was taken in the absence of the Danzig delegation, and therefore is one-sided.

Tho ‘ Verposten,’ the Nazis’ Danzig organ, accuses the Council of impoliteness, saying: “ Wo aren’t Kaffirs, but the Government of a sovereign State.” It ignores tho fact that Herr Greiser refused in advance to send a representative to Geneva.

[A previous message read as follows: —The Council requested the Polish Government to assume the responsibility of finding a solution of the problems of Danzig. The Polish representative accepted the task. The committee’s report emphasises that it is clear that the Council and the High Commissioner “ arc at present meeting with systematic obstruction from the Danzig Senate.”] FOREIGN OFFICE INFLUENCE -- r LONDON, October 7. The ‘ Daily Telegraph’s ’ Berlin correspondent says: “ Herr Greiser’s policy was undoubtedly inspired by the German Foreign Office, because it is no secret that Danzig is administered and controlled from Berlin, The 1 Borsen Zeitung ’ describes the decision as a disguised attempt to disturb the good relations between Germany and Poland. ‘ The only result will be to remove in German eyes the last vestige of belief in the League’s ability to reform itself.’ ”
