■AIK IN MOST PANTS The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers-, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— A series of rather intense depressions of the westerly typo is crossing the’ South Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand. Pressure is still high to the north. Forecast: Strong and squally north-west to westerly winds to gales. Weather cloudy to overcast, Tvith rain in most parts, but more especially Dio west and south. Temperatures moderate; seas rough to high about Foveaux Strait, elsewhere moderate in coastal waters, but rough off shore. LIGHT SHOWERS.

Warm temperatures were experienced yesterday in Dunedin, with a slight north-westerly breeze apparent all day. There was no frost last evening, and tho morning broke fine but overcast. Following a change in the direction of the breeze from a northerly to a light southerly, rain commenced falling at 8.30 a.m., and continued in showers all morning. The barometer at noon showed an _ unsteady pressure of 29.65 in, and indications at this time were for further unsettled conditions. The respective maxima until 12.30 p.m. to-day and yesterday were 53deg and 66deg, with the corresponding minima at 49.2 deg and 56deg; yesterday over a 24-hour period the registrations were 66deg and 49deg respectively.
