MOVEMENTS. —Coastal.— Gale sailed last evening for Timani, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Waimarino sailed last evening for Timaru, Wellington ,and Auckland. Waipiata left this morning for Bluff, and is expected to return on Saturday to load out for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Kaimai is expected on Friday from Westport via Bluff to load out for Tiniaru and Lyttelton. Breeze is expected to ax-rive from Wellington on Monday, and after discharge will proceed to Port Chalmers for annual ovex-haul. Storm is now duo on Saturday from Wellington; Picton, and Wanganui. Wingatui leaves Auckland to-morrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is expected to arrive here on October 15. Wainui leaves Wellington on Saturday next for Dunedin direct. She is due hei-o on Monday, and will sail on Tuesday for Wellington, Napier, and Gishoriie via ports. Holmdalc is due on Monday from Wanganui. She is expected to sail tho same day fox- Timaru. Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Holmglen is due on Monday ix-om Port Waikato and Wellington, and is to sail the same day for Timani, Lyttelton. Wellington, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato. Waipahi leaves Wellington next Wednesday for Dunedin direct. She loads here on Friday, October 16, for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. —Overseas. — Hororata is laid up at Port Chalmers after completion of discharge of her New York cargo. Karetu arrived at Port Chalmers from Wellington this morning to undergo survey.
Canadian Highlander is expected from New York and Montreal via northern ports on October IG. Rotorua, from West Coast of iiaiglaml ports via northern ports, is due here on October 13.
Wairangi is due at Port Chalmers on October 10 from London via Lyttelton. She is scheduled to leave here on October 14 for Bluff and Timaru to complete, and is then to load at Wellington, New Plymouth, Napier, and Auckland. Waikouaiti was due at Sydney today, to sail for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is due hero on October 14. James Cook left Newcastle on Monday, and is expected to arrive here direct on Sunday next. Juslitia, from Nova Scotia with a cargo of newsprint, is due hero about October 25.
Tokyo Maru arrived from Japan via northern ports this morning. Waitaki leaves Melbourne next Wednesday for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is due here on Tuesday, October 20. Omana leaves Edithhurg, South Australia, on October 10, and Adelaide on October 15 for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, Castlecliff, and New Plymouth. She is expected hero about October 24. VESSELS TO ARRIVE.
INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The interislaml express steamer Rangatira arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 this morning. Passengers and mail for the south connected with the express. TRANSPACIFIC MAIL SERVICES. —Northbound.— Maunganni left Sydney on September 24 for Wellington and San Francisco ria Rarotonga and Papeete. She arrived on September 28 at Wellington, and is due at San Francisco on October 16. Mariposa is to leave Sydney on October 14 for Auckland and San Francisco via Suva, Pago Pago, and Honolulu. She is due at Auckland on October 17 and at San Francisco on November 2. Aorangi was to leave Sydney today for Auckland and Vancouver via Suva and Honolulu. She is due at Auckland on October 12, and at Vancouver on October 30. Niagara is to leave Sydney on November 5 for Auckland and Vancouver via Suva and Honolulu. She’is duo at Auckland on November 9, and at Vancouver on November 27. Monterey is to leave Sydney on November 11 for Auckland and San Francisco via Suva, Pago Pago, and Honolulu. She is due at Auckland on November 14, and at San Francisco on November 30. Makura is to leave Sydney on October 22 for Wellington and San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. She is due at Wellington on October 26, and at San Francisco on November 13. —Southbound.— Makura left San Francisco on September 23 for Wellington and Sydney via Papeete and Rarotonga.
