ARTS BALL
It is customary to exaggerate when describing spectacular events, but it is claimed as not possible to exaggerate the scene that will be presented at tonight’s Arts Ball in the Town Hall, when 1,000 dancers In fancy dress will take the floor. The Town Hall has been completely transformed, practically every part being covered with painted panels, friezes, cut-out figures, while a big staff of electricians will be required to work the electrical effects, which will greatly increase the kaleidoscope effect Although dancing is the main object of the evening, the programme has been varied to include the presentation of two delightful ballets and the grand parade, at which tho costumes will bo judged. An excellent orchestra and good supper will complete the evening’s entertainment. A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the Town Hall to-night, while those who wish to watch the proceedings can obtain admission to the gallery at a small charge.
