DUNEDIN HOUSEWIVES’ UNION
The usual monthly meeting of the Housewives’ Union was held on Tuesday afternoon, when Mrs A. Herbert presided over a good attendance. Correspondence relating to the shel‘■cr shed and convenience for women at Frederick street from the City Council was read, with a communication from the Centennial Council giving a number of suggestions regarding the best ivay to commemorate the memory of the pioneer women of Otago. It was decided that a letter of congratulation bo sent to Mrs D. G. M'Millan on her appointment by the Government on the High Schools Board The Chairwoman then gave a short talk on the Budget and what it contained relative to the hanking system, llefcrencos were also made to the Mortgage Corporation Act and the changes in it to meet present needs. The ncsl meeting will take the form of a bring-and-buv sale.
