DUNEDIN SPRING MEETING OPENS TO-MORROW
The above comprehensive photograph of the Dunedin Jockey Club's racecourse at Wingatui, taken from the air, shows where to-morrow's and Saturday's races will be run. _ _ _ _ In the background to the left the borough of Green Island can be seen, and to the right Black Head is just showing up. In the foreground is Mr J. Gow's farm, in which cattle can be seen in the paddock on the left-hand side of the dark fence, and sheep to the right. , - > The photograph gives an excellent bird's-eye view of the club's fine appointments, the course proper (outside the white railing), and thfe training tracks on the inside. - The M'Lean Stakes, the star attraction on to-morrow's card, will be started from the barrier shown in the right-hand bottom corner of the picture; while the Dunedin Guineas on Saturday will be started from the mile post, which is not shown, but is situated about a furlong further back than the left-hand edge of the photograph. At the back of the course and to the left and right are training stables.
