NEW ZEALAND RECORDS BROKEN The first official attemptjn Dunedin to beat some of the New Zealand weight-lifting records was successfully made at the Baldock Institute of Physical Culture last Saturday by Stan. Williams, a promising young litter. Harrv Baldock was official referee, J. Davidson and W. Hardy were appointed judges, and R. Fraser and J. Sutherland were in charge of the weights. Williams, at a body Weight of lOst 21b, lifted the following:—Two-arm military press, 136i1b; two-arm jerk behind neck. 1761 b: two-arm clean and jerk, 192i1b. These lifts all exceeded the present New Zealand records. Williams has unofficially lifted 19.") lb in the two-arm clean and jerk. Further record attempts are to be made.
