FILMING THE ROSLYN TRAM.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The ‘ Star ’ of last Saturday contained an account of the operations of a photographer filming the cable car at Rattray street; no doubt the picture is for public production later. People north of Dunedin make a joke of this tram, and before now I nave seen a picture in an illustrated paper showing the car with 90 or 100 people bulging out at its sides. The Dunedin public takes this lying down—at times in more ways than one. The point that now occurs to me, however, is that the publishing of the recent film may he damaging evidence against our city council when an accident occurs; also in view of the propaganda of the “ Hundred Thousand Club,” will such a picture help to attract outsiders to become permanent residents of this city?—l am, etc., October 6. “ X.”
