Piloted by H. Wood, Lord Sempill’s Monospar plane arrived from Melbourne having covered 2,436 miles in 12h Soniin. Wood said lie was confident that ho could keep his promise to the crew Hint they would have lunch in London next Sunday. To do this Wood must fly more than 12,700 miles without relief at the controls and break the record of 5d 15h from Darwin to London held by Cathcart-Jones and Waller.
