She is expected to sail to-mbr-row for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Waimarino is due here to-morrow morning from Bluff to load for Timaru, Wellington, and Auckland. Karu was to sail at noon for Wellington, Nelson, aiid New Plymouth via ports. Waipiata is expected her© to-morrow from Lyttelton. She will leave for Bluff the same day, and return on Saturday to load out for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. - Holmdale sailed last evening for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui via Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. Kaimai was expected to arrive from Westport via Bluff to-day to sail for Timaru and Lyttelton. Holmgleu is due on Monday from Wellington. After discharge she will proceed to Port Chalmers for annual overhaul. Storm is now due on Saturday from Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Wingatui leaves Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is expected to arrive here on October 15. Wainui leaves Wellington on Saturday next for Dunedin direct. She is due here on Monday, and will sail on Tuesday for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. —Overseas.— Hororata is laid up at Port Chalmers, after completion of discharge of New York cargo. Karetu leaves Wellington to-day for Port Chalmers ami Bluff. Canadian Highlander is expected from Now York and Montreal via northern ports on October 16. Rotorua, from West Coast ports via northern ports, is due here on October 3,3. Wairangi is due at Port Chalmers on October 10 from London via Lyttelton. She is scheduled to leave here on October 14 for Bluff and Timaru to complete, and is then to load at Wellington, New Plymouth, Napier, and Auckland Waikouaiti was due at Port Kembla to-day, and at Sydney on Thursday, to sail for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is due here on October 14. Tokyo Maru arrived at Wellington yesterday from Japan, and is expected here on Thursday. TRANSPACIFIC MAIL SERVICES. —Northbound.— Maunganui left Sydney on September 24 for Wellington and San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. She arrived on September 28 at Wellington, and is due at San Francisco on October 16. Mariposa is to leave Sydney on Oct9ber 14 for Auckland and San Francisco via Suva, Pago Pago, and Honolulu. She is due at Auckland on October 17 and at San Francisco on November 2. Aorangi is to leave Sydney on Thursday for Auckland and Vancouver via Suva and Honolulu. She is due at Auckland on October 12, and at Vancouver on October 30. Niagara is to leave Sydney on November 5 for Auckland and Vancouver via Suva and Honolulu. She is due at Auckland on November 9, and at Vancouver on November 27. Monterey is to leave Sydney on November 11 for Auckland and San Francisco via Suva, Pago Pago, and Honolulu. The Marino Department advises that the position of tiie new wharf in Auckland Harbour as given in a previous notice .should road “ 2S7deg 4,200 ft from Kauri Point.” PETROL FROM RUSSIA. The tanker Oilrcliance is to load hulk motor spirit at Datum, Russia, for New Zealand ports during October for the Associated Motorists’ Petrol Company. CANADIAN SHIPPING ACT. On August 1 last the new Canada Shipping Act came in operation. Section 663 provides that “ no goods shall be transported by water or by land and water, from one place in Canada to another place in Canada, either directly or hy way of a foreign port, or for any part of the transportation, in any ship other than a British ship.” THE SCHOONER HUIA. The Nobel auxiliary- schooner Huia arrived at Melbourne from Fremantle on September 26. The vessel is to sail for Fremantle on October 5, and from Fremantle she will return to Melbourne about the end of October to load explosives for New Zealand. LONDON SHIPPING. During the week ended August i-1, 1,527 vessels, representing 1,089.420 net register tons, used the Port, of London. Of these, 562 vessels 1762,495 net register tons) wore to and from Empire and foreign ports, and 965 vessels (326,925 not register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic.
