CLEANING SEWERS.
To TUB EDITOR. Sir, —As a visitor to this fair city I was shocked to see the way the sewers are cleaned in the town. To see those men handling chains after being dragged through all the filth of the city nearly made mo sick. Why cannot the sewers of Dunedin be flushed like the sewers in other places P That surely it not a healthy job for a man. Dunedin now has a Labour council. Why does it not see that these men have bettor conditions to work under? Do they get the same rate of pay as an ordinary worker?—l am, etc., Health First. October 6.
