DISTURBANCE IN PARIS ARMED POLICE AND GUARDS TURN OUT Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARES. October 4. (Received October 5, at 1 p.m.) Armed police and mounted Republican Guards, numbering 20,000, establishecl an impregnable barrier around the Parc des Princes. They repelled over 15,000 members of_ the Socialist Party, who were advancing to invade the park from the surrounding streets in order to prevent a Communist meeting. Many clashes resulted in 1,300 arrests.
