THE SHARE MARKET

DUNEDIN STOGK EXCHANGE INTEREST IN MOUNT MORGANS Investors continued to display keen interest in Mount Morgan shares this morning, when the market recovered some of the ground lost at the end of last week. Sales were made at 14s and 14s Id, the market closing with further buyers at 14s Id and no sellers under 14s 2d. It is reported that there are about 800 New Zealand shareholders in this company which is attracting the present attention as a result of greatly increased returns being expected from the installation of the oxidised ora plant. Government loans maintained strong support at firm rates, but other sections of the market remained in a weakened state with a definite restriction of buying orders. A further sale of National Bank of New Zealands was reported at the low price of £3, and Wilson’s Cements had reported business at 36s 3d, 9d less than required by sellers on Saturday. Martha gold shares also had reported business at the firm price of 19s 9d, and there were subsequent buyers at the same figure, with no apparent seller. A notable change in the miscellaneous group, was a sharp rise of 2s in the buying offer for National Electrics without attracting a seller. G. J. Coles were quoted freely at unchanged rates, while Woolworth’s (ord.) moved up Is 6d to buyers at £5 4s. SALES REPORTED LATE SATURDAY. National Bank of New Zealand, £3. Wilson’s Cement, £1 16s 3d.
