AMERICAN WOMEN’S TITLE MISS BARTON WINS INTERNATIONAL FINAL NEW YORK, October 2. A message from Summit, New Jersey, states that the first international final in women’s golf since 1913 was assured when Pamela Barton, the British title-holder, won the semi-final round match in the national women’s championship, defeating Marion Miley, of Kentucky, 3 and 1. Her opponent in the 36-hole final was Maureen Crews, who defeated Kathryn Hempill, of Columbia, South Carolina, 4 and 2. Miss Barton won the championship, defeating Miss Crews, 4 and 3 over 36 holes. Miss Barton is the first English winner since 1913.
