A feature of the last monthly meeting was an effort by the committee to initiate a patrol of motor cyclists to report the number of inconsiderate riders using the sections of King and Cumberland streets which run past the hospital. This proposal was very well received by the largely-attended meetOn September 26 a run was arranged which it was hoped would be one of the more popular fortnightly events. This was to the Taieri aerodrome, but for some unknown reason the committee in charge on that day had omitted to obtain the necessary permission from the aerodrome authorities, who would not permit the ground to be used, and the event had to be postponed. In future it is to bo hoped that the necessarv arrangements will be made in good time for the use'of the ground. After a hurried consultation at the aerodrome members decided to adjourn to a well-known hill and hold an impromptu climb. This event was won by Mr Stewart on his Ulster Rudge, with Mr Fowler (Ariel) and Mr Pettet (Norton) tying for second place. After the usual inquest on “ why I did not go faster,” members returned to the city more or less satisfied with the afternoon’s sport.
