FITTING A TIGHT FAN BELT

A strong piece of rag can be of great help when fitting a new fan belt where the adjustment is not sufficient to allow the belt to pass over the pulley of tho water impeller. Fold tho rag tightly round the fan belt just in lino with the pulley, pulling outwards and towards tho pulley, while the engine is being slowly turned. Do not use a screwdriver for this job or you will probably damage your knuckles on the radiator honeycomb. The rag method is safer and will not damage the flange of tho pulley.
