BOMBPROOF CELLAR FOR EMERGENCIES A bomb and fireproof cellar in which valuable Beethoven relics can be safeguarded in times of emergency, is part of a scheme of alterations which are to be carried 'out at Bonn, where the great composer was born. »The house, which was Beethoven’s birthplace, already houses a. collection of relics, and the building next door, in which ha Was christened, is to be restored to its original condition and the special cellar fitted. The Beethoven Museum is also undergoing reconstruction work, and will, it is hoped, bo ready by March of next year. Thousands of tourists from all parts of the world travel to Bonn every year in order to visit the scene* of the composer’s; childhood.
