OTAGO ASSOCIATION MEETS A meeting of tho committee of tlie Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held last night, when there were present—Messrs W. It. Sinclair (in the chair), A. M'Millan, It. S. Jack, 35. D. Duthie, R. A. Morrison, H. S. Ross, A. T. Jensen, A. Muir, E. G. Ruhen, 35. Swcte, G. Jolly, T. Grimsdale, S. Falconer, and R. Phillipps, and Dr Fulton, The question of drafting a transfer rule was referred to Messrs Ross and Phillipps to submit rules to the next meeting, It was left to the secretary to act regarding the affiliation of each club to the Sports Protection Association. The question of the Cleghorn and Walker Cup competitions was referred to the Competitions Committee. The secretary submitted the entries received for the various competitions. It was resolved that clubs be asked to nominate players for the colts’ team. It was resolved to accept the St. Clair Club’s entry in tho A grade competition. , . It was resolved that the Competitions Committee should arrange the A grade competition subject to the foregoing resolutions. Mr J. H. Meek wrote thanking the members for electing him a vice-presi-dent.—Received. Mr H. Groves wrote thanking the association for appointing him a delegate to the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association.—Received. ; Mr J. J. Tregear wrote thanking the members for electing him an honorary vice-president, and forwarding a donation of £1 Is. —Received with thanks. Tho Otago Boys’ High School, John M'Glashan College, the King’s High School, and the King Edward Technical College wrote in reply to the association’s letter promising to do what they could to assist lawn tennis in tho schools.—Received. It was resolved to hold the M'Millan Cup tournament on November 21. The question of topdressing the courts at Logan Park was referred to the Works Committee to report. The following sub-committees were appointed Competitions Committee.—Messrs A. T. Jensen (convener), E. D. Duthie, 35. Swete, E. G. Ruhen, and T. Grimsdale. Delegates to United Club. —Messrs A. T. Jensen, E. D. Duthie, R. A. Morrison, and Mrs Clark. Selection Committee.—Dr Fulton (convener), Messrs A. T. Jensen, and E. Swete. Handicapping Committee. —Messrs E. D. Duthie (convener), R. S. Jack, R. A. Morrison, G. H. Jolly, H. S. Ross, and C. Muir. Finance Committee.—Messrs A. M'Millan (convener), E. G. Ruhen, H. S. Ross, and S. Falconer. Ladder Committee.—Messrs T. Grimsdale (convener), G. H. Jolly, R. A. Morrison, and Dr Fulton. Works Committee.—Messrs R. PhilHpps (convener), C. Muir, A. T. Jenson, and A. M'Millan. The matter of rules governing club matches was referred to the Competitions Committee. It was moved as a recommendation to tho Competitions Committee that all intermediate matches be tho best of 17 games, and that all these matches commence at 1 p.m.
