FORESTERS
The quarterly summoned meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room, Unity Chambers, Stuart street, on Tuesday last, C.R. Bro. J. Hughan presiding, and all officers being present except the 5.8., Bro. W. Cooper, who was absent on account of his mother’s death. The Woodward’s report regarding the sick members was very satisfactory. Invitations were received' from Court Excelsior (October 6), Court Pride of Leith (October 7), Court Little John (October 13), and' Court Robin Hood October 14). All were accepted, and it was decided' to attend officially. Three maternity claims were passed for payment. Two candidates were initiated into the order by the C.R. with the usual formalities. P.C.R. Bro. Alercer took the second part, and P.C.R. Bro. C. AUAulay, acting S.C.R., welcomed the new brothers with the Foresters’ toast. P.D.C.R. Bro. R. Yercoe paid a visit to the court and was welcomed' by the C.R. with district honours. Bro. Stenhouse’s resignation as trustee was received and' accepted with regret, the secretary being instructed to write to him to that effect. A circular from the Undertakers’ Association was received, and it was decided that no action be taken in the matter. A letter was received from the syllabus secretary asking the court to send two delegates to the meeting, P.C.R. Bro. Brettell and Bro. Cockbnrn being selected. The election of officers took place, and the following were elected: — C.R., Bro. H. Hogg; S.C.R., Bro. W. Steffens; treasurer, P.C.R. Bro. James Dey (re-elected) ; secretary, P.C.R. Bro. W. AI. Hogg (re-elected) ; S.W., Bro, W. Williams; J.W., Bro. W. Cooper; 5.8., Bro. J. Benfell; J. 8., Bro. Watson; minute secretary, P.C.R. Bro. S. B. Brettell (re-elected) ; auditors, Bros. Henderson and Melville (reelected); trustees, P.C.R. Bro. E. Johnson (re-elected) and P.C.R. Bro. James Patton. P.D.C.R. Bro. Yercoe, assisted by P.C.R. Bro. P. Alercer, installed the various officers and paid very high compliments to the treasurer, secretary, and minute secretary for the manner in which they carried out their work. The secretary was instructed to send letters of sympathy to Bros. Cooper, Vivian, and the relatives of the late Bro. Barclay on account of the losses they had sustained' by the bereavements in their families. P.D.C.R. Bro. Yercoe presented I.P.C.R. Bro. Hughan with his P.C.R. neck ribbon and framed'certificate. Bro. Hughan returned thanks. The C.R. gave a very hearty welcome and vote of thanks to Bro. Yercoe for his kindness in coming along for the installation of officers, and reminded him he would always receive a very hearty welcome to Court Enterprise. Bro. Vercoe, in responding, stated that it was always a pleasure to him to visit Court Enterprise, and any time that he could bo useful to Court Enterprise ho would be pleased to attend. The C.R. gave the “ Fallen Soldiers’ Toast ” in a very impressive manner, the minute secretary reminding members not to forgot the anniversary.
