FISHERIES REGULATIONS
PORTION OF LICENSE FEES FOR RESEARCH (Tek United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 1. The Fresh 'Water Fisheries Regulations, 1930, giving effect to the Fisheries Amendment Act, 1936, were published to-night. They make provision for the issue of licenses and define places where acclimatised fish shall be taken. One clause dealing with the question of license fees is to the effect that there shall be paid by every Acclimatisation Society into the Consolidated Fund a proportion of one-tenth of the aggregate fees chargeable for the licenses issued by such society in respect of any period commencing after the passing of the Fisheries Amendment Act. 1936. The regulations also cover the liabilities of persons fishing, unlawful possession, and dealing in fresh water fish, the pollution of waters, and penalties for breaches of the regulations. Appended is a schedule of licenses and fees to be charged throughout the Dominion.
